| Nordic walking
Nordic walking conceals a new, entirely revolutionary and
scientifically proved concept of exercise. It involves
striding along while using special poles which swing
alongside the body with each stride. This way 90% of the
muscles are worked out, there is 30% less impact on the
musculoskeletal system and 46% more energy is consumed
compared to traditional jogging.
Selva certainly offers the ideal surroundings to practise
this innovative sport.
New! Langental Nordic Walking Park
DSV Nordic Aktiv Park in the Langental valley has been
designed by the DSV according to an innovative concept. An
all year round active sports centre of Nordic events –
Nordic walking in summer and cross-country skiing and
snowshoeing in winter.
In summer 2006 three routes with various levels of
difficulty were opened. Walk across the Puez Odle nature
reserve surrounded by gorgeous scenery and unique flora. All
three tours lead past sights such as the Selva ruin, San
Silvestro chapel and part of the way of the Cross with
station images hand-carved into tree trunks, to name just a
few.
