The highlights of the events and festivals in the Val Gardena

The Val Gardena is known for its beautiful landscape and the imposing mountain peaks of the Dolomites.  Aside from the natural wonders there are also a series of Events and Festivals, to provide fun and entertainment.

Val Gardena is definitely not lacking in varied and interesting highlights and activities.  In fact, quite the opposite!  Both art and music lovers find lots to keep them happy.

Valgardena Musika

Music is an art that knows no limits. It is a universal language that can reach everyone, can have multiple meanings, knows no borders and can bring people together.

ValgardenaMusika is a series of concerts away from the big music and cultural centres, an international festival in the mountains with strong links to the local landscape, culture and and linguistic characteristics. Amongst the South Tyrolean festivals, it can boast a long tradition, which has given the festival a well-defined personality and identity as a cultural link between city and land, between majority and minority languages, between different musical idioms, between different ethnic groups.

UNIKA – the sculptor’s fair in Val Gardena

UNIKA, an exhibition and review of the Val Gardena sculptors will present the art of woodcarving to an interested public. For three days they will transform the Tennis centre where the event will takes place into the largest workshop in the world, thus offering the possibility to the visitor to watch the creation of an unique work of art as well as getting informations about the ancient tradition of woodcarving in Val Gardena considering the purchase of a special work.

Sella Ronda Hero – MTB Marathon

The hardest mountain bike race of Europe set in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world, the Dolomites. Two courses crossing over 4 legendary Dolomitic passes – Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi and Sella – as well as the Duron Pass, leading around the spectacular Sella (3,152 m) and the Sassolungo Massifs (3,181 m). The course measuring 82 km and 4,200 m of difference in elevation will confer the title HERO OF THE SELLARONDA HERO, the course measuring 50 km and 2,600 m of difference in elevation is for those who like to enjoy the breathtaking view on the Dolomites, Natural World Heritage Site of the UNESCO.
