According to the well-known website "TripAdvisor.com", the Val Gardena counts amongst the 10 most beautiful ski areas in Europe.
The Gardena valley is part of the world’s largest ski area, the "Dolomiti Superski", which covers the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Dolomites and gives you access to 1200 kilometres of pistes and 450 lifts with one ski pass.
In June 2009 in Seville the Dolomites were promoted by UNESCO to World Natural Heritage status. The protected area, with an extraordinary number of spectacular peaks, covers nine mountain massifs in the Dolomite range, six of which are in South Tyrol: the natural parks of Sexten, Fanes-Sennes-Prags, Puez-Geisler and Schlern-Rosengarten.
